Our climate commitment

Measured, reported, reduced at the source.

At InfoDesign Colombia SAS we measure, report and work to reduce our carbon footprint. We are a software development company operating under a 100% remote and distributed model — a model that not only improves our team’s quality of life, but structurally reduces our environmental impact.

This page constitutes our public emissions declaration and is updated periodically. We participate in Schneider Electric’s “The Zero Carbon Pathway” programme as part of its supply chain.

Our target

Net-Zero by 2030

We commit to reaching carbon neutrality in 2030, reducing our emissions at the source and neutralising the remainder through renewable energy certificates (I-REC) and carbon credits verified under recognised standards.

This is a target, not an achievement. We are not a carbon-neutral company today: as of this publication we have not contracted renewable energy nor purchased carbon credits.

Our 2025 footprint

Where our emissions come from.

Almost our entire footprint sits in Scope 3 — the value chain. We have no direct emissions (Scope 1), and our electricity consumption (Scope 2) is marginal because we operate without a traditional office.

Our footprint sits almost entirely in our value chain: primarily the cloud services that power our work, business travel, our team’s remote work, and computer equipment — in the Scope 3 Standard categories that are material to our operations.

Remote work

How remote work made us more efficient.

Moving to a fully remote model eliminated commuting emissions entirely and cut our office electricity to a minimum. Our team has grown substantially since 2019 and, even so, our emissions per employee fell by half. Our total emissions did rise over the period because the team grew — we report that openly rather than hide it. The indicator that reflects our efficiency is emissions per employee.

Reduce first. Neutralise the rest.

Reduce at the source

  • Sustain the 100% remote model that eliminated commuting emissions entirely.
  • Optimise cloud and SaaS consumption — our single largest source.
  • Extend the useful life of computer equipment to reduce manufacturing emissions.
  • Travel only when strictly necessary; default to remote collaboration.

Neutralise the remainder

  • Evaluate renewable energy certificates (I-REC) for the electricity we consume.
  • Evaluate carbon credits verified under recognised standards for residual emissions.
  • These measures are part of our plan. None has been contracted or purchased to date.
Methodology and transparency

How we calculated this — and what we do not claim.

This declaration covers the greenhouse gas inventory of InfoDesign Colombia SAS.

Inventory prepared following the GHG Protocol (Corporate Standard and Scope 3 Standard), under an operational control approach. Emission factors from public sources: the Colombian grid factor (SIN), US EPA USEEIO, DEFRA/ICAO, and manufacturers’ product carbon footprints (PCF).

Scope 2 is reported under the location-based method. As we have not contracted renewable energy, our market-based figure is equivalent.

Scope 3 categories not material to a software company operating without physical products — such as downstream transport, product use or franchises — are excluded.

Declared limitations

  • The figures are estimates. We do not hold our own energy bills — the company operates from our team’s homes and a coworking space, so electricity consumption is modelled, not metered.
  • This inventory has not been verified by an independent third party.
  • Net-Zero 2030 is a target, not a current achievement.
  • Our absolute emissions rose between 2019 and 2025 because the team grew. We publish that increase rather than hide it.
